Looking for a piano teacher in Tiverton who comes to you? I'm Colin Mitchell, and I've been teaching piano and keyboard since 1990. I visit pupils in Tiverton and the surrounding villages every week, teaching in your own home, on your own instrument.
Learning at home makes a real difference, especially for children. No travelling to a studio after school, parents can hear every lesson, and pupils practise on the same instrument they learn on. Piano or keyboard — I teach both
I'm one of the few teachers offering keyboard lessons in Tiverton as well as piano. If your child has a keyboard at home, we can start on that — many of my pupils move up to a piano once they're hooked. I teach classical, jazz, rock and pop, plus the ABRSM syllabus from Grade 1 to Grade 8 with music theory built in, and my pupils pass at almost 100%, including Grade 8 and Diploma distinctions.
Prices
30 minutes: £25 · 60 minutes: £50, in your own home. Half-hour lessons suit most children; adults usually take the hour. If a week is snowed off or the car won't start, we can switch a lesson to Zoom rather than lose it.
A bit about me
Playing since the age of five, teaching since 1990 — many hundreds of pupils, currently around 40 a week, aged 4 to 95. Enhanced DBS checked, ARSM qualified, and a former performer with the QE2 World Cruise among the highlights. I teach because I love watching people surprise themselves at the piano.
